Moon Matters aka “Moon” is a lovely 16.2+ hand, 2011 dark bay or brown filly. She is a very nice mover and should excel as a competition sport horse.
We took these photos in April before her owner decided to give her a chance to race. After two races and showing little, “Moon” came back to the farm and is ready for a new career. She has trimmed down and looks more like a race horse now. She has had no injuries and has no vices.
“Moon” has three years left to grow so she will be close to or over 17 hands when she finishes growing.
If you have been looking for a horse that is worth taking the time to bring along slowly, “Moon” might be a match for you. She should go to someone who is looking for a special horse to train to the highest levels that person feels comfortable competing at. She will need patience and guidance as she is young and knows little but is very willing. With horses like this, it is important to bring them along slowly and never let them get scared. If you take your time, you will be rewarded with a bold and loving competition partner.
UPDATE October 2014: This beautiful filly has been SOLD! Congratulations to Monica Farabee of Weddington, NC. Monica got our mailing too late to call but she called first thing in the morning and she is now the proud owner of this beautiful filly! Monica will bring her along slowly and we look forward to lots of OTTB Success Stories from this pair.
