My favorite view from the barn.
It is not real often we get snow in Atlanta, and when we do it really messes up the city and traffic – even worse than normal. That is when I am happy that my commute to work is just down the hall and the furthest I have to travel is to the back pasture. Here are a few photos from our ‘Big’ snow event in Georgia. Enjoy . . . unless you are stuck in traffic like several of our boarders.
Postal Pam says, “Neither rain, nor sleet nor dark of night . . . will keep me from having fun in the pasture.
“OK. I’m done playing. Let me into my stall for pete’s sake.”
OMG. It is starting to stick! Quick run to the store for bread and milk.
The snow came down fast for a few hours and the ground was quickly covered.
Enjoying the day before settling in for the night.
The tall and short of the snow is that it came down hard and amounted to about three inches.
Where are the cheese and crackers and beers? And boarders?
The riding arena is silent in the snow.
This Kentucky filly does not understand what the fuss is about.
My favorite view. The barn doorway frames the view and every day there is a new photo in the frame.
The snow forgot to look at the calendar. Christmas was last month.
Find the white horse in the snow.
Halters in the snow.
Nighttime settles over the farm as the snow lets up.
A Winter Wonderland at Bits & Bytes Farm.
Dreaming of trail riding and picnics to come with Spring.
January 29, 2014: Photos from the day after. Clean up has begun.
The sun is shining and all is beautiful.
I can’t wait to look at this photo in July!
Waiting for Summer.
Day breaks over the arena.
Another view of the arena.
The temps will hit 60 on Saturday and I expect this snow will be gone.
Four board fencing in the snow.
Our snow removal in Georgia – a tractor and a dirt shovel.
The tractor is clearing the driveway so it can melt in the sun.
Two more days . . . if I can just hold on for two more days!
