Bits & Bytes Farm - Thoroughbred- Horses For Sale

Thoroughbred Horses For Sale

"Horses for sale." These words are exciting or scary depending on whether you are a buyer or a seller.

What do you do if you are a race track trainer who has a Thoroughbred horse for sale, who is sound, but just not competitive? The public cannot get onto the race track without a licensed professional to escort them. Trainers don't have the time to give tours of the race track. Trainers who care about their horse won't take it to auction or sell it for low end racing. These are the trainers we get our horses from.

The Latest Newz from Bits & Bytes Farm

You may have noticed a change! After almost 20 years of building this website, we thought it might be time for another update. The Bits & Bytes Farm website was created in 2001 and has gone through many changes. It was originally started for two reasons, the first was to help promote the Thoroughbred breed and find homes for ex-racehorses. The second reason was for us to learn how to build websites back in the day where it was all done in HTML code. The technology for building websites has gotten better and better. Today, we use a content management system known as WordPress to create our website. WordPress is built on a database which makes it easy to sort out the stories you want to read and link to related stories. If you want to see the old site sections (there is tons of good content there) you can click on the Archive button in the menu above.

This website will forever be a work in progress as we are always learning how to make websites more useful for visitors. We use this website to test out new technologies that we apply to our clients' websites -- that's where we make the money, it is well spent on the Thoroughbreds.

If you need a website for your business, just give us a call. Our websites are built so that Google will find them and they will appear in the appropriate searches by potential customers. Though website design has gotten easier the underlying structure of the website has changed and it is critical that a website is built from the ground up with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind. Our website business is Egeland Wood & Zuber, Inc. Give us a call if you would like assistance with your digital marketing.

Elegant Eldridge - Thoroughbred Horse For Sale from Bits & Bytes Farm

Elegant Eldridge is a 2017, 15.2+ hand, black, Thoroughbred gelding for sale from his breeder/owner/trainer. ‘El’ is just a baby and still growing. He should mature to over 16 hands in the next three years. He has a great disposition and impeccable ground manners. He is good with other horses. He cross-ties, and stands quietly to be clipped. He has no soundness issues or stable vices. ‘El’ is just very SLOW. He is so quiet at the track that his owner/trainer has actually used him for company for the first time babies to the track to give them confidence. He is as quiet as a pony horse. When working out at the track, he is very rateable and will go any speed you want. But when racing, he just does not have the speed needed to win.

This guy has a ton of growing left to do and will be a big beautiful boy for sure. This is a horse that could go any direction you like. He is young, drop-dead gorgeous, AND he has a brain. Elegant Eldridge is the complete package. ‘El’ has raced just seven times with his best finish being fourth. In his last race, he broke from the gate in 8th place, and at the wire, he was dead last in 10th place. He finished dead last in the race before that as well, and dead last in the race before that. Finishing last, in his last three races, should answer any questions about why he is for sale. This is your chance to get a Thoroughbred directly from his breeder. We know his entire history because his breeder is the one who raced him and is selling him. She has no need for a beautiful but slow gelding. She has asked us to find him a home where he will be loved and be appreciated. This is a horse that will stand out in the show ring! He is your next competition partner?

Please call for pricing. The price can go up or down depending on the owner. We always check with the owner when someone is a serious buyer. Many times the price goes down to a really good home. We do not own these horses so we cannot control the pricing. We will not sell a horse to just anyone with the money. We carefully select the horses we sell and we work hard to make a perfect match. If you don’t call, we cannot help you. We are not a rescue and our horses are not ‘rescue priced’. Most horses are between $2500 and $4500 – some higher and some lower. Call and we can talk more about our horses and let us help you find the perfect match. We take the gamble out of getting a Thoroughbred off-the-track. Learn more about how our Track Prospect Horses are priced on the main Bits & Bytes Farm website.

I look forward to speaking with you. Please call 770-704-6595 between 9am and 9pm. East Coast Time – Elizabeth Wood
