Nicole Hunter and her OTTB mare "Rain" are our newest boarders at Bits & Bytes Farm

Newest Boarder at Bits & Bytes Farm – Thoroughbred “Rain”

Welcome to our newest boarder at Bits & Bytes Farm  Nicole Hunter and "Rain"! "Rain" is a 2019 Thoroughbred mare who raced in Ohio before being purchased by Nicole Hunter. Nicole has an interest in dressage so she will have lots of fun here at our farm this spring and summer.

Bits & Bytes Farm is a place for adults to have fun with their horses. We believe that we are never done learning and it is fun to test where we are at with our training by attending clinics and schooling shows. We do outings to other farms to train and school. Many of our riders enjoy doing dressage schooling shows and lower-level eventing competitions. This is not a competition-centered barn. We are not chasing the ribbons. We use the competitions to see what we need to work on training-wise. It is always fun to have a goal. The other boarders and friends who are not showing, join in the fun and come help as grooms and cheer on the riders. We don't believe that kids are the only ones who can have fun with their horses. Whether riding or not, it is a fun day for all and the day usually ends up with a picnic because it's a Bits & Bytes Farm outing.

Another way we support our boarders is to host clinics and shows at our farm for them. This gives show experience without leaving the farm. We host well-known trainers and clinicians at our farm. This season, our friend and judge extraordinaire,  Robin Tardy has agreed to join us once again as we host Fix-a-Tests and lessons at the farm on these dates:

  • Sunday, March 10th
  • Sunday, June 9th
  • Sunday, August 4th
  • Sunday, October 6th

We have lots more events filling up the calendar. Nicole will enjoy working with her Thoroughbred with the help of our trainer Kathy Duke. Most of the horses at Bits & Bytes Farm are Thoroughbreds. Thoroughbreds are our first love. We specialize in the feeding, training, and care of this special breed. If you find yourself reading this and want to experience the fun without the stress of a serious competition barn, give us a call.
