New Look to Our Home Page

Bits & Bytes Farm New Home pageBits & Bytes Farm’s history goes back to 2001 when Web design was just in its infancy and we got our first horse off-the-track. This Web site started as a way to test the new Internet marketing tools as a way to find homes for Thoroughbreds we brought into the farm. Our Web site has grown to over 10,000 pages and has training notes and success stories from the beginning. As a marketing tool . . . it is the best! To date we have found homes for over 300 Thoroughbreds when they finished their racing careers. We have between 500 and 1000 visitors to this site every day! Not too bad for a little farm in Georgia. English & Western & Sound . . .

tks-turn_20101014_35 . . . This describes our newest horse. We don’t often sell older horses but when we find one as sweet and well trained as TK’s Turn, we just have to help him find a new career. He has already had a long and successful racing career. That was followed by a career on the track as a pony horse. A pony horses take a lot of abuse as they lead the babies and more difficult horses to and from the track and the races. Read more . . .

Destin - 2007 chestnut Thoroughbred colt for sale
“Destin” – 2007 chestnut Thoroughbred colt for sale”Destin” is a 2007, 16.1+ hand COLT. He floats across the ground effortlessly. This horse would make a great 3-day event horse. His sire is Point Given who was the 2001 Eclipse Champion and 3 YO Colt & Horse of the Year. He was a massive chestnut colt. Point Given was the only horse in history to have won four 1 million dollar races in a row: the Preakness, the Belmont, the Haskell Invitational and the Travers. This colt is his son — but he can’t run. “Destin” has been a non-winner in nine races so it is time to find him a new career. Could he be your next eventing horse? Read more . . .

Fall Trail Ride With Friends

Chickamauga Battlefield Trail Ride - October 3, 2010We spent a great day today trail riding our Thoroughbreds at the Chickamauga Battlefield with our friends. Today was a perfect fall day just right for a trail ride. There was a nip in the air this morning and the leaves are just starting to change color. It was a kind of day that you will remember in the cold of winter or the heat of the summer. Not too many days are as perfect as today.

We had an interesting group of horses and riders. We took five Thoroughbreds from Bits & Bytes Farm: Pride of the Fox, Monarch’s Reign, Political Pull, Brewster and the wonderful With Wings aka “WWW”. We met up with Bob and Susan Goodman riding their huge warmblood fox hunters. Chase New, our farrier, brought two of his mustangs and his friend Amanda. We had one Western saddle, two bareback riders and five English saddles. Susan decided to ride her hunt horse Henry bareback when challenged by Chase riding bareback on his small mustang. The challenge got tougher when the jumping started. Read the rest of the story . . .
