Monarch’s Reign

Monarch’s Reign was a former Prospect Horse on the Bits & Bytes Farm Web site in December 2009. He was purchased by Suellen Slockbower and now boards at our farm.

Back from the Track – New Gray Horses!

We returned from the race track with Young Joe – our beautiful big, solid gray gelding. He is sooo sweet.

We had a lot of interest in “Joe” so we found another dappled gray gelding in case you wanted “Joe” and you moved too slow . . . Meet our newest Prospect Horse “Prize” on his Prospect Horse for sale page. See photos of Young Joe loading up at the track . . .

Jake and Bull Mountain Again and Again

It was a small but hardy group that set out to trail ride at Jake Mountain in North Georgia. The weather was forecasting an annoying light mist of rain with chances of heavier showers. That did not deter this group of friends from enjoying their off-the-track Thoroughbreds on a mountain trail ride and sharing a picnic. Learn how you can join the fun . . .

Easter Sunride

Monarch's Reign - a sleep on the saddle It was a beautiful Easter Sunday morning but it was a little too early for Monarch’s Reign to be up for a trail ride. He fell asleep on his saddle as his mom tried to tack him up in the trailer. See the photos of our ride and our Easter/birthday party that we enjoyed when we returned to the farm on our 2011 Outings & Training Photos page under Training Thoroughbreds.

Sunny Sunday Trail Ride With Our Thoroughbreds

Political Pull & Spot RunSunday was such a perfect spring day that we decided to take the Oliver’s new 4 Star trailer on a test run to Garland Mountain in north Georgia with their two Thoroughbreds — Political Pull and Spot Run. We loaded four more Thoroughbreds into the Bits & Bytes Farm’s 4 Star to join in on the fun. So Romeo, With Wings, Monarch’s Reign and our newest off-the-track Thoroughbred, Detroit Iron aka “Andy” all enjoy trail riding. We have a photo gallery showing the beautiful day on our new page 2011 Outings and Training Photos.

Fall Trail Ride With Friends

Chickamauga Battlefield Trail Ride - October 3, 2010We spent a great day today trail riding our Thoroughbreds at the Chickamauga Battlefield with our friends. Today was a perfect fall day just right for a trail ride. There was a nip in the air this morning and the leaves are just starting to change color. It was a kind of day that you will remember in the cold of winter or the heat of the summer. Not too many days are as perfect as today.

We had an interesting group of horses and riders. We took five Thoroughbreds from Bits & Bytes Farm: Pride of the Fox, Monarch’s Reign, Political Pull, Brewster and the wonderful With Wings aka “WWW”. We met up with Bob and Susan Goodman riding their huge warmblood fox hunters. Chase New, our farrier, brought two of his mustangs and his friend Amanda. We had one Western saddle, two bareback riders and five English saddles. Susan decided to ride her hunt horse Henry bareback when challenged by Chase riding bareback on his small mustang. The challenge got tougher when the jumping started. Read the rest of the story . . .
