Popular Five has begun his sport horse training at Bits & Bytes Farm. “Bobby ‘Boo’ Bones” was his first rider and “Bo” proved unflappable. Next on was Elizabeth who was able to ride him in the dressage test – USDF Introductory Level Test A – within the first five minutes of riding him! The fall colors are gleaming shades of copper and gold and so is our Prospect Horse at the Track – “Destin”. We took a fall foliage tour to Kentucky to pick up Popular Five and bring him back to Bits & Bytes Farm. We just returned from a fabulous trail ride to Garland Mountain in North Georgia. It was only a 30 minute ride from Bits & Bytes Farm and the weather was perfect! We spent a great day today trail riding our Thoroughbreds at the Chickamauga Battlefield with our friends. Today was a perfect fall day just right for a trail ride. There was a nip in the air this morning and the leaves are just starting to change color. It was a kind of day that you will remember in the cold of winter or the heat of the summer. Not too many days are as perfect as today.
We had an interesting group of horses and riders. We took five Thoroughbreds from Bits & Bytes Farm: Pride of the Fox, Monarch’s Reign, Political Pull, Brewster and the wonderful With Wings aka “WWW”. We met up with Bob and Susan Goodman riding their huge warmblood fox hunters. Chase New, our farrier, brought two of his mustangs and his friend Amanda. We had one Western saddle, two bareback riders and five English saddles. Susan decided to ride her hunt horse Henry bareback when challenged by Chase riding bareback on his small mustang. It’s been a busy week at Bits & Bytes Farm. We found a home for our “BAYby” Bounced and for one of our Prospect Horses For Sale at the Track – Reign Day. We have a new Prospect Horse listed – “Sammy” and another one soon to be listed. I guess it is Spring Fever or Global Warming!
